Materials and Techniques $95
How do we cultivate the art of finding what we’re not seeking?
Explore new ways to approach your art-making practice.
Is your creative brilliance calling for some playtime?
Want to come out and play, art-as-un-usual?
This useful workshop offers artists of all levels an opportunity to probe new painting/mark-making materials and methods with which they might transform or embellish their art practice. With a mix of one to one tuition and demonstrations, Catherine Richardson will help students to push the boundaries of their practice as they work individually and collaboratively with the group.
A series of exercises designed to loosen and flex your methods of approaching mark making will ignite the first section of the session. The course will enable students to try out all sorts of techniques they might not have previously combined with their work. Ink and marble dust washes, pen and ink, simple mono print, (texture- focused intaglio prints without a press; 2-day workshop) mark making, and additional exciting methods which will hugely increase the vocabulary of techniques and composition used in students’ future creative practice.
