I completed a degree in Fine Arts from UCLA. In my life I traveled much of US, and the world visiting the Middle East(specifically Lebanon and Syria), South America across the continent by surface, Canada, some of Europe and Ukraine, all the while picking up arts projects and points of view to share with my students. I have shown my paintings and drawings in many galleries and a few museums in Hawaii, Oregon, Washingtom State, and extensively in California.
I also have a Montessori teaching credential and have taught in Montessori schools, home-schooling groups, community education programs, YMCA summer programs, Sebastopol Center for the Arts and for Riley Street Arts Program for over 40 years. I can help experienced artists “taste” a new medium so valuable in reaching deeper in one’s own usual medium and helping adults who have little experience learning just how exciting learning how to make art and how to overcome the hesitance people who have little experience are likely to have.
For over 40 years I have taught groups and individual classes for adults and children primarily silk painting as fine art, drawing composition, oil pastels. I also love teaching paper-making, Huichol yarn painting, book making, introduction to sculpture, weaving, trapunto (to use in conjunction with silk painting. I am happy to arrange classes in your home or in my studio.
Let’s put our heads together and see what we can come up with to delight and challenge.
