Originally from Los Angeles, I moved to Santa Rosa in 1989 and never looked back. I spent around 20 years in L.A. doing watercolors and belonged to the Valley Watercolor Society for many years. I am a “self-taught” artist, learning from books, videos, dvds, workshops, and various classes. When I moved to Santa Rosa I continued watercolor and initiated the WASCO (watercolor artists of Sonoma County) club. A friend gave me a handful of oil paints a few years ago and took me outside to paint “en plein air”, and that’s what I’ve done ever since. I now wonder how I ever did all studio work before that. Oils definitely speak to me as does the great outdoors. Painting and creating is what makes me tick. I love to paint and draw and have ever since I can remember. Since moving to Sonoma County the great outdoors is my studio. I feel a part of the landscape and it brings out the painter in me.
